The MagicHighway Pirate has not had a lot of sleep lately but I must say he is looking very happy.

So what difference does a happy Pirate make to you?
I will explain soon but first let me tell you why he is happy.

Yesterday afternoon, Australian time, the MagicHighway AutoSurf Traffic Exchange was moved to a new server, and a new hosting company. This morning, Australian time, the Pirate awoke to find that the new server was handling the load exceptionally well.

Although the name servers around the world may take up to 48 hours to update, we already have a lot of members on line happily surfing.

As this email is being written, the server is getting in excess of 10,000 page views an hour while the processor load is fluctuating between 0.20 and 0.35

The old server had severe personality disorders when it got anywhere near 5,000 hits and hour and the processor load would fluctuate between 36 and 52. Yes you read right. That is a huge difference in processor load. This confirms my suspicions that it was not my badly modified script that was causing the load, but rather the way Kiosk has configured their servers.

So what does this mean for you?

It means smoother surfing with little or no MYSQL database connection problems.
It means faster surfing so you can visit more pages in an hour.
It means more members can be on line at the same time and for longer periods.
It means more hits back to your pages.
It means more members viewing your pages more often.
It means more signups to your programs.
Add all of the above and it means more $ in your pocket.

Now one other thing:
A happy server = a happy Pirate and a happy Pirate means more treasures and more bonuses for you. More members surfing and more sites visited every day means a bigger treasure pool for the Pirate to use for bribes and rewards.

Ok now the final thing:
Are there any bugs as a result of the move? Did we miss anything?
